The Independence Day spirit will be alive and well in Tulsa, Oklahoma and nearby communities this 4th of July. With numerous free festivals, fireworks shows, concerts and family-friendly activities, there are many ways to celebrate the Fourth for free. Check out some great free events in the Tulsa area below.

This year’s FreedomFest will feature live entertainment, Kids’ Zone inflatables and games, food and beverage vendors and more before its fireworks display, one of the largest in the U.S., casts a blaze of light over the Arkansas River.

Named one of the ‘Top 10 July 4th Festivals in the United States’ by CNN and USA Today, Edmond’s LibertyFest includes several Fourth of July events around the holiday. On June 29, the Concert in the Park will celebrate patriotic music at UCO. The 4th of July Parade will kick off the official holiday at 9 a.m. ahead of ParkFest at UCO, which will offer family-friendly activities from 6-9 p.m. The fireworks spectacular will start at about 9:30 p.m.
A Celebration in the Heartland

The city of Moore will host a day of celebration this Independence Day, with free music in the South Pavilion beginning at 4 p.m., as well as ticketed activities like helicopter rides ($40) and food for purchase. The family-friendly event will conclude with a huge firework show at dark.

Yukon City will host two days of Independence Day events including multiple fireworks shows. On July 3, the Concert in the Park will honor veterans with patriotic music by Rodeo Opry and Irv Wagner’s Concert Band ahead of a firework display at 10 p.m.
Festivities on July 4 include the children’s Cherry Bomb Triathlon Sand Art Contest, the Freedom Fest Car Show, the Annual Children’s Parade and more. Free watermelon and ice cream will be served at 7 p.m., followed by patriotic music at 8 p.m. and a performance by the Oklahoma City Philharmonic at the Gazebo at 8:30 p.m. The July 4 fireworks show will begin at 10 p.m.
